Connecting2Families

Connecting2Families was created for families who are looking for new ways to reach out to other families along life’s roller coaster ride. Perhaps you want to meet another family who enjoys the same hobbies as your family, or maybe you want to glean from another family’s experience in dealing with a struggle your family is currently facing. Whatever your desire, it’s our mission to open the door for you to build lifelong relationships with people from all around the country – relationships grounded in hope, encouragement and compassion, or in other words, the values you hold dear.

Through our virtual family room, families can share their personal information in a safe, secure setting. An initial family compatibility profile will connect your family with other families who share similar values, beliefs, interests and family dynamics, such as religious preferences, and the number and ages of kids in your household. A secondary profile will match your family with other families who may be facing the same life circumstances you face today. In the end, it’s our vision for you to find a compatible family connection where your family will find friendship, support and grow healthier every day.

The number of words an average person consumes–meaning, reads, or hears everyday.

Amazingly, the amount we read has triped from 1980-2008.

YA-Young Adult Literature List

YA-Young Adult Fiction is fiction written for, published for, or marketed to adolescents and young adults, roughly ages 14 to 21. Distinct themes characterize YA fiction. The protagonist is usually portrayed by an adolescent and the conflicting story arcs center around conflicts in adolescence, fantasy, epic battles, supernatural forces, and, sometimes vampires, werewolves, and gothic characters.

Although some professors point to early 1800 for references to YA fiction, novels such as Catcher in the Rye and The Outsiders are generally considered as the archetypal YA books.

I asked a young blogger who concentrates on the genre to create a book list of YA titles. Her list and rating system is contained on the attached file.

You may want to save, print, and file this list for future reference, or check-out a couple of titles to read for you to read and consider.
