ABC News and Virtual Reality Storytelling

ABC News has become the first major U.S. news division to launch a virtual reality platform taking viewers directly to where news is happening (TVNewser). ABC News notes that more viewers access their news from mobile devices  than from desktop computers (Pew Research and (Variety).

The inaugural project, in collaboration with Jaunt, a VR film technology company, gives viewers a look at historical sites in Damascus, Syria, making ABC the first major broadcast news network to venture into virtual reality storytelling.  (Politico Media)
