Team  page   vs. Team Click or Team Book
Playing for the Vince LomPage-E trophy
Playing on the page-iron field with each yard = 36 paragraphs, pages, chapters (depending on the skill level of your readers)
Looking for “inter-read-ception” of extending on your discussion by making connection to their own reading practice
Each reading team member can create their own player stats bookmark, similar to current NFL player stats prior to game-time. Similarly, they can create “Super-Reading-Bowl” behind-the-scenes reading bio via video or presentation.
You, as the coach or referee can “huddle-up” with each reading team
Good offense involves proper book selection, proper reading posture, proper lighting, note-taking, and quiet environment.
Proper defense includes combating distractions, a bookmark to hold the reader’s place, and regularly checking for understanding.
Fumbles can include dropping their book or eBook, skipping a page, reading the last page first, forgetting to read the author information, table of contents
Goals of Super-Reading-Bowl are for page-turning poetry in motion, i.e. readers to complete as many passes of page reading yardage during each 15-minute reading quarter. Each reader must try to overcome drives toward reading distraction. A flag on the play may be given by the referee or coach for some things such as incorrect comprehension, reading posture, forgetting glasses, etc…
Each quarter gets a 2-minute ending warning.
Half-time show involves YouTube clips of “Puppy Bowl” from Animal Planet on YouTube.
NFL intro music available on youTube or soundcloud or ringtone.
Remember, it’s not the size of the book in the reader, it’s the size of the reader with the book!
How can we improve on these page-turning protocols?
Helen
