Animated word clouds add interest to instructional practices in the school and workplace. Using word clouds to compare and contrast ideas. Students can analyze various word clouds for the similarities and differences of perspective and summation. Older students can create and produce the word clouds.
This word cloud represents the discussion of 29 graduate students, learning online from three different states. MonkeyLearn was used for the initial word cloud instruction. PicMonkey was used for animation, layout, effects, captioning, and gif file creation.
Word Clouds are visual representations for text data, typically used to depict keyword metadata (tags) on websites or other digital documents. What counts with word clouds are the frequency with which a word is used. Word clouds are also known as Tag Clouds.
My new favorite way to use Word Clouds is to copy the text of a resume and paste it into a Word Cloud Generator, such as Wordle. When I copy the text into Wordle, common themes and experiences immediately appear.

- Illustrate classroom thoughts or views using a word cloud to survey students. Favorite university, pro team, singer, etc.
